THE SENSUALITY OF THE SEA

Through those images I tell the story of the sensuality of the Sea

Aili Vint: When contemplating the sensuousness of nature as expressed in the Sea's psyche, one can see the invisible connect between nature and our senses. Therefore, there is a subtle between my seascapes, my sensual abstracts, depictions of the female form. Through those images I tell the story of the sensuality of the Sea. You can see the invisible connect between nature and our senses…

When contemplating the sensuousness of nature as expressed in the Sea's psyche, one can see the invisible connect between nature and our senses. Therefore, there is a subtle between my seascapes, my sensual abstracts, and depictions of the female form. Through those images I tell the story of the sensuality of the Sea. The Sea has innumerable moods. Sometimes it’s a want on trickster, sometimes inhumanly cruel, sometimes just indifferent. This comes naturally to the sea.

THE SOUL OF THE SEA

I paint the Sea until I find his Soul. At first glance, meeting the Sea and its mood, the Soul cannot be seen until it shows its true face while painting. I won't release any of my marine paintings from the studio until he has become dear to me..Then I have found the Soul of the Sea and drawing it on paper. This is why I do not want to separate them. The Sea and its Soul belong together like the Sea and the Wind.

I have combined my tiny abstract sensual etchings with my seascapes to create huge new works. Now they are as big as my seascapes. In my installations they represent the moods and whims of the Sea. My goal is to reveal the Soul of the Sea. They represent the moods and whims of the Sea.

Through those images I tell the story of the sensuality of the Sea. They really are like Souls of the Sea, just like ghosts in the exhibition room that appear above my seas for a moment and disappear the next. Have you considered how similar the Soul of the Sea and that of a Woman is? Really, remember yourself…

The Artist Takes the Floor 2019,

Estonian Art Museum invites visitors to walk through a forest of art history and sees to it that the walk is a meandering journey, taking museum-goers from main paths to enjoyable side trails which have not yet been fully assessed and categorised in art history. In inviting the artists, the curator considered their creative profiles with the aim of involving different media.

Several invited artists made the initial choice of pieces of interest based on the electronic museum database MuIS and the digital collection of the Art Museum of Estonia, which was followed by actual work with the collection. The works of art on exhibit cover the period from the 17th to the 21st centuries.
